We won’t sell information about you to anyone, period. Profile information, email address details and other personal data remains yours, and won’t be sold on to third parties, ever.

Things change, hairstyles change, and so we’ll update this page from time to time to make sure it reflects the needs of our Planet Kodu members. We’ll let you know when we do by publishing the updates on our blog.

How and Why We Collect and Use Your Information

You don’t have to give us any information if you don’t want to. Register as Mickey Mouse if you wish.

The thing is, from time to time, we’d love to ask your opinion on a few subjects. We’ll also be putting competitions up in the public domain and if you do win, we may need your contact information in order to send goodies your way.

We won’t use your information to send targeted advertising or any other such nonsense.

Planet Kodu was created by the ideasLAB, an organisation committed to developing new ways of teaching and learning using technology. We strongly believe that programs like Kodu Game Lab represent exciting opportunities for learners.

With this in mind, knowing a little more about you helps us to understand who the Planet Kodu community consists of and how our members learn. With a little information about you, and the other members of Planet Kodu, we hope to help new learners all over the world.

Children’s Privacy

We’re very aware of the fact that many of our Planet Kodu members are under the age of 13, which is why we take the utmost care to ensure that we keep only a minimum amount of data about these users in particular.

Every member of Planet Kodu is a parent and has had a career in teaching, and children and young adult members of Planet Kodu are of particular concern to us. Everything we do on this site is particularly scruitinsed based on the privacy needs of these members.

Cookies

We love cookies, particularly the ones with sultanas, and the small chocolate bits that melt in your mouth. We don’t however, use cookies on the site at present, but may in the future. If we do, it will be to improve your experience on the site, not to sell you anything.

Disclosure

If we do use any member information for the purposes of exploring the needs of Planet Kodu members, or understanding how our audience uses the site, all personal data that could in any way identify individual users will be removed first.

Links to Third Party Sites

While we are stringent about how we treat your information on this site, if you follow an external link from our site to another site, our privacy policy stops at the door. We can only protect your personal information while you remain on Planet Kodu. Anything you do on other sites beyond our control is … well … beyond our control.

Security

At Planet Kodu, we use only the best, seasoned, top of the range, first class encryption to protect your information. We then lock it in a safe under the cyberbed, and put our cyberdog Spike out front to keep undesirables away. Your data will always be safe as houses at Planet Kodu.

Your Content Online

Every time you ask or answer a Kwestion in our forum, there’s always the possibility of it being amended in some way. In fact any Planet Kodu member can edit questions and answers in the forum. Why do we allow this?  Put simply, we trust our members, and know that a body of knowledge about Kodu Game Labe built and refined by all of us will be a powerful resource we can all share in.

Similarly, if you upload a game to the website, there’s the very real possibility that it will be downloaded and amended by other Planet Kodu members.  We strongly believe that allowing this will encourage improvement  in the Kodu Game Lab skills of all our members.

Updating Your Info

If you need to, you can update or review the information kept about you by Planet Kodu at any time simply by visiting your profile online. If you have any particular concerns about your information, or would like to discuss this policy with us, simply email us at planetkodu@gmail.com
